One people junk is another treasure?

Trashcan = Diamond 2 = Shaking Hands

One people junk is another treasure? Well, I always believe in this saying and that is why I have started a blog at http://www.minibazaar.blogspot.com/ with a few friends selling our stuffs.

Never knew I had so many stuffs until we unpacked our boxes. There are clothings, bags, shoes, and ...(too many to name) that I have not even used or worn before. I must really do something about it! So over dinner one evening, my friends mention that since I am not working why don't I try do the blog things. We can at the same time clear some of our their stuff and get back a bit instead of tossing it away. Hmm...not a bad idea and so here I got it running...so hopefully you, my friends can help me to spread the words around and if you do see anything that you like there or are looking for anything in particular, let me know.... cheers :)

Thank You

NDP Preview 2008

It has been a long long time since I have celebrate National Day in Singapore. This year, I really wanted to get the tickets and go to join the crowds at the Marina. As I am looking for means and ways to get the tickets, I realised that tickets have already been snapped up way before I know it. Sigh...what to do, have to wait for next year then. Sad

Fireworks Kiss Out of the blue, my brother called and said he has 2 extra tickets for the preview. I am jumping with joy! Although this is my second time celebrating "live" with a whole lots of others, it never fails to bring out the Singapore Spirit in me. We had a great time enjoying ourselves at the preview not to mention the fireworks is really spectacular! I think I need not say much coz pictures said a thousand words...

Kampong Fish Therapy Experience

FishArmed with two free trial session to the Kampong Fish Therapy, my sis asked me to go and try with her. Having read about it in magazine not long ago, it seems interesting enough. So I decided to give it a try...why not, since it free!

When we reached there, we took off our shoes and proceed to clean our feet. After that, we are led to a "big pond" filled with hundreds of fish. OMG!!! I just want to grab my bag and run away. The thoughts of having my feet immersed into the pool send shiver down my spine. Sensing our fear, the friendly staff asked us to try to lower our heels into the water first to have a feel of it. The moment our heels touched the water, a swarm of fish start "attacking" our heels! It felt ticklish and at the same time, it seems the fish are nibbling the life (I mean the dead skin) out of you. Both of us giggle like little girls. We dared not looked at our own feet but I manage to catch a glimpse of my sis and eewhee...After ten minutes or so, my brave sis immersed her legs into the pool (mine still the same). My naughty sis keeps pushing my legs into the water. Finally I managed to submerge my feet deeper (three-quarter of it lah).

After 30 minutes, we cleaned our feet again and the staff applied moisturiser on our feet. Although there are therapeutic benefits, I would not want to try again. I just can't bring myself to it again....

You can visit the website at http://www.kampongfishtherapy.com/ to learn more about the benefits and if you are adventurous enough, why not give it a try. Winky

Testing the water first with my heels touching the water

After 20 mins or so, I submerged a bit more of my feet in

A closer look, see how big the fish is...bet there is a lot of dead skin around my toes...haha

The best x'mas present - Kitchen Aid Mixer

Chef Though I may not be a professional baker, wanting to have this mixer started when I first set my eyes upon it. Of course, there are a number of factors that made my desires go stronger with each passing days. Seeing all those chefs in Food Networks (an American cooking show) using Kitchen Aids and how they bake with ease & style made me want to own them. I even wanted to get one when I was in the States after I "burnt the motor" of the existing one which is factors number two. I know you all feel that it is quite absurd, but the motor just ceases on me! However, after careful consideration (due to the different in voltage) I decided to get it after I come back to Singapore.

After umpteen time of persuasion, Jason finally give in and got me an orange colour mixer. I am in clouds nine when I bought it but Jason's pocket got a big hole....Don't worry darling, I will definitely put it in good use and bake lots of goodies for you! Darling...thanks for your generous gift!

Finally, I am ready to show it off...

WelcomeAfter months & months of sourcing around & many many late nights of cleaning and unpacking; our house is finally ready! Didn't know that moving into a new house required so many works - both physically & mentally!

From the start sourcing a designer to choosing of materials, finding "our style" of furnishing and unpacking, I would say it takes a lot of communications and creativity. I am glad to say that Jason has been very supportive in the process. He had worked hard moving boxes here and there to make spaces for the renovation to be done and thanks to his creativity, some of the designs are unique. No doubt in the process, there tend to be lots of arguments and conflicts but we managed to come to agreements. Now we are ready for our house warming! So dear friends, please come and help warm the house...

Back in Singapore!!!

It has been more than a month since we arrive in Singapore. Jason had gone back to work for more than 3 weeks. As for me, I am still lazing around. Times pass super fast, and we always find that time not enough! The main reason is due to our renovation, as we had to source around for appliance, furnitures, chosing the materials and design for the renovation....and many many more! We have been living "out of the luggages" all this while and can't wait for our "love nest" to be ready. I think after moving in to our new house, we will still be occupied for a while busy unpacking all those boxes!

That so much update for the time being....wait for my house warming, okay????

My Cars in Arizona

CompactThis trip we had enjoyed driving a variety of cars (thanks to Jason being a car “siao”). When we start counting how many cars we actually owned during these trip, we came to realize that we had changed 6 cars! Below shown only 5 cars coz one of them we forget to take any photos before selling away. That is a 1993 old car (I don't even know what it is), we called it "pink pink" coz it pink in color!

2003 Nissan Xterra

Jason bought this car for my commute. It is the most expensive car that we own for 1 year. We bought this car because Jason wanted it since last trip in USA and also we won't have the chance or $$ to own it in Singapore...

1995 Honda Prelude

This belong to Jason which he drives to work. One of his dream car (coz it a fast & powerful one). Very popular car here and often been "jio: by young punk!

1999 Honda Accord EX V6

This is my car after we sold the Xterra. Although it not that new but it was in excellent condition. Of coz, I do miss some of the features found in Xterra but overall I do enjoy driving this car.

1995 Honda Civi EX

This belong to Jason after he sold his Prelude. He bought it not becoz it fast or powerful but because he like the rims/wheels of the car! Not a good car for travelling coz it only 1600cc only but it looks nice lor!

1995 Nissan Maxima

One of the cheapest car that we own. Currently we only have this car as we are going back to Singapore in September and it will be easier to sell a cheaper one than a more expensive one. Although it old, very trustworthy. We even drove it to Las Vegas!

Return from MIA

I'm BackIt has been a while since I last blogged. Been super super busy with life! Have taken a course in Kindermusik and hope that I will put it in good use when I am back. This is a music course which combines music with solid research in child development. As I love to teach and being around with children, I think I will do well in this area.

I am also busy with selling some of the stuffs and packing my boxes. Time passes so fast that in a blink of time, we are coming back to Singapore in September! Come to think of it, we have been here for 2 years and 9 months and it is a long time away from my families and friends. We seem to lost touch with how Singapore is so there will be lot of catching up and adjusting when we are back! Can’t wait to savor all those food that we have missed for so long….
