My first manicure & pedicure in Arizona

I have never tried any manicure or pedicure in Arizona coz it is quite expensive in the states and don't know whether are they as good as Singapore. So my friend and I decided to do it since we are having a CNY dinner on Friday night. She found a Beauty School where the rate is cheap. All the services are done by students who are on training. They are trained to do all the services (manicure, pedicure, haircut, facial etc) and when they graduated then they can choose to specialise on a certain skill. I done a french manicure and were not really that satisfied with the result. If you see from far away, it looks nice but when you look closer you realise the white tips is "not straight". As for my feet, I just do a normal paint. On the whole experience, it is quite alright though I must say the massage is so comfortable that it made me want to
sleep. Since it is done by students and the rate is cheap, what can you complain
about...

What happened to a person's intergrity?

Jason has just told me that the deal to buy the van is off. I am so pissed off after hearing the news. We have already made a deposit and there is a written black & white that we are buying his van for that amount! The angriest part is that he wanted to revoke his promise because someone offers him at a higher price! I am really really pissed off with him. I told Jason that actually we can sue him since there is a written agreement but Jason said it will not be too nice since they are working together. That the thing that I don't like about buying cars from our own people. Even if the person is in the wrong, what can we say...? It makes me wonder what had happened to a person's integrity. Is money a more important factor then?

CNY goodies...yum yum!

Chinese New Year is one of my favourite festival and even more so when you are far away from home. Miss all the new year goodies so much, so my friend and I decided to make some for ourselves. We settle on making kueh bangkit and pineapple tarts - two of our favourite goodies and a must have...yum yum...We have been so busy baking these few days and it seems like a long time since I am so busy. Somehow it makes me feel useful...hahaha...

Definition of friendship

Definition of friendship:

1: one attached to another by affection or esteem
2: one that are not hostile
3: one that is of the same nation, party or group
4: a favored campanion

I am someone who treasures friendship a lot but somehow I don't always be reciprocated for it. Well...maybe not all people are the same as me. However, the funny thing is I only feel this way while I am in states. In fact, I am quite disappointed with the so called "friends" that I have known. I think calling them acquaintance will be more appropriate! Sometimes I will ask myself; maybe I didn't "contribute" enough to the friendship BUT shouldn't it be a two-way thing? You shouldn't expect people to keep calling you, arranging gathering and you just sit there waiting for it to happen! It made me wonder does these kinds of people worth my effort?

One incident that really pisses me off happened last weekend. I saw the 'friend' whom we used to talk, go out with etc. I started a conversation and she replies me briefly. Somehow after that she sort of "drifts away" from where we sat and moved to a corner to join another friend. Throughout the party, she didn't spoke a word to me! At that moment, I am so angry and disappointed that I wanted to confront her, somehow another part of me told me to let it go. Maybe now she didn't need me as a friend anymore since she is in a different stage of life. I may feel sad "losing a friend" but on the other hand, I am glad that I saw the true colour of her. Though I must say it doesn't apply to everyone, I do meet some good people here and I believe our friendship will be like those who I have in Singapore...

A new year...a new beginning!

A new year is unfolding and this is a time for reflection as well as celebration.

As you look back on the past year and all that has taken place in your life,

Remember each experience for the good that has come of it and for the knowledge you have gained.

Remember the effort you have made and the goals you have reached.

Remember the love you have shared and the happiness you have brought.

Remember the laughter, the joy, the hardwork and the tears.

And as you reflect on the past year, also be thinking of the new year to come.

Because most importantly, this is a time of new beginnings and the celebration of life.
