Winter is offically here!

Today is the first day of winter. Although winter has come, somehow you just feel that something is missing...and that is SNOW!!! Well, you all have guessed it! It doesn't snow in the place where I stay. So if you really wanted to see snow in
Arizona, you have to travel to Flagstaff which is about 2 hours away from here.

I miss the feeling when you see flurries falling from the sky, touching and feeling the snow flakes. Where you can see snow piling up in your front yard and you are sitting inside your warm and toasty house drinking hot coco. Isn't that what it should be when you called it winter???

I kind of miss Clovis, where my first trip was. The winter there is so peaceful and the whole scene is so picturesque. That's what I called a White Christmas...whereas here is more like spending x'mas in Singapore.

Toti CrEatiOn

Has always wanted to start out something and one day my sister told me that she is very into jewellery making and decided to attend courses for it. So we decided to bring our actions to work and see whether does it really work out. So we started Toti CrEatiOn. It is named after my sis favourite plush toys which her husband get for her during x'mas a few years back. In fact, Toti is so cute that everyone in our family adores him. Well, so much of his introduction. Back to Toti CrEatiOn, we hope that we can start something first even though I am in the states. Now we can only rely on our families and friends to pass the words around. Well, you know lah, words of mouth is a very powerful way of advertising. So do check it out at www.toticreation.blogspot.com.

Viva Las Vegas!!!

It is going to be the end of the year and Jason is trying to clear all his leaves before they got forfeited. Since we can't think of where we wanted to go, (trying to save $$$ for our New York trip next year) we decided to go to Las Vegas (again). This is going to be our third trip to Vegas in this year...hehehe...and I think we both enjoyed going there too. There is so much stuff to do there...shopping, eating, gambling, site seeing etc etc...you name it and you'll find it there.

We spent a week there and stayed in one of the casino - The Orleans. Although it is not located along the strip of Vegas, it is only about a mile from the strip so pretty close for us. The best of all is that the accommodation is cheap...only US$18 per night. Where can you find such cheap accommodation? Only in Vegas, I think. Don't think that by paying only US$18 per night, you expect very run-down rooms...it is very clean and spacious and it meets the standard of a hotel. One more thing is that it offers very cheap supper - steak & eggs for only US$2.99!

Since we had been to Vegas for a number of times, we decided that this time we take it slow and easy. Most of the time we spent is gambling :p. We did do some shopping as one of the days is Thanksgiving and the sale is incredible. We also cover places that we missed during the last few trips. Generally, time passes very fast when you are enjoying and then it is time to head back home. Can't wait for the next trip to Vegas again but this time will be more fun coz we will be going with our family!

Thanksgiving "Madness"

Thanksgiving Day is really huge in the states. People will travel hundreds of miles back home for dinner, just like us who will travel back home during CNY. They will prepare a delightful feast which mainly consists of turkey, stuffing, pumpkin pie etc etc...

As for us, the main concern is post Thanksgiving sale!!! Every time around this time of the year, there will always be great great sale and sometimes additional discounts or gift cards given out for early birds.
Not to mention that some sale starts as early as 12.01am! Since we had a bit of experience on what to do, we bought a stack of newspaper on the day and scout around for any good deals the next day. Indeed there are tons of sale, but the most attractive part will be the early birds sale. Since we can only go to a few places during that first few hours, we have to give priority to what we really wanted to buy.

We set off at 4.00 am and there is already lots of traffic on the road. It was a scene which you can't imagine. (Don't always assume that only Chinese is kia sui...too bad did not have time to snap photos for you guys to see...maybe next year lor...) People had already starts queuing as early as 1.00 am just to wait for the shop to open at 5.00 am. However, we did manage to "grab" the things that we wanted....and boy....we will exhausted by 11.00 am that we went back to sleep....

My new gadget...the eye toy!

A few days ago, Jason & I went to Wal-mart and saw a boy moving his body in the air. I am wondering why he was acting so weirdly in the public, then I realised that he is standing infront of PS2 and was playing a game using just his body parts. The game seems fun and it makes me thinking that maybe it will help me to exercise too if I am too lazy to go to the gym. (LOL)... I am so intrigued by it that I decided to give this gadget a try. During last weekend, we went to Fry's Electronic and bought the gadget - eye toy. It came with a game that consists of 12 mini games for you to try out with the eye toy. Although I think that the game seems pretty easy, we decided to get it as we are the beginners in this gadget. Immediately after we went home, Jason fixed up everything for me. We give it a try and laugh our hearts out. It was fun! However, it can be tiring coz you have to move you hands vigorously. On the whole, I give it a 7 out of 10 as I find the game in this package is too easy and can become boring if you play continuously. The final conclusion is that we have to start looking for some new games...see if this Thanksgiving sale offers any good deal.

My "new" hair style...

Has been wearing my hair straight for so many years and has always wanted it to be in other way than straight. The main reason that I have been keeping my hair straight is because Jason said he prefer gals with long straight hair. So to "keep my promise" to him, I still keep it long but don't think wanna it to be straight forever. So guess what I did to my hair? I set it to be curly today! It turns out quite well and I think I am liking it. However Jason think that I look a bit "ang moh", I told him that since I am now in the states so the style suits where I am now...hahaha...so what do you guys & gals think?

are you able to see my wavy hair clearly?

The first BBQ since summer...

The weather had started to cool down and it had been a while since we had bbq. Since we are able to go outside without perspiring, I decided to organize a bbq at my house. We had invited some good friends over and tons of food (otah, satay, egg sambal, chicken puffs etc etc) to share around. Everyone is so full at the end of the day and there is quite a bit of food left behind. We had an enjoyable time...

Guys...get ready...1...2...3...pose!

Gals...smile and say cheeze...

Our Chef Yap busy checking on the chicken wing...

and now...Chef Chua pretending to be busy...haha...

My not so new den...

One more months and it will be one year since I have left Singapore. Time really files...looking back nothing much really change except that I am one year older! Friends from Singapore have been urging me to take some photos of my house here and I have been 'dragging' ever since. Finally, brought a better digital camera, snap a few pictures and sit myself infront of the computer and here I am typing and uploading the photos. So, pals from Singapore...enjoy these photos!

I'm blogging again!

By starting this blog this time round, I made a promise to myself that I will not delet it again. However, this time I will not be doing a food blog cause I realised that I am not as diligent as those food bloggers whom I have read from. Although I very much wanted to share my love for baking with the others, it is really hard to bake and post at the same time and not to mention posting recipes as well. So to combine the best of both world, I will write down my thoughts, feelings and my love for food to share with my families and friends. Always wanted to pen down all these so that when I looked back, I be able to know what I have experience or done in my life.

So my dear families and friends, do check for updates on what is going on in my life and hope that through this you will be able to understand me better :)
